Graveyard Keeper 2 System Requirements
Steam's 720p minimum and 1080p recommended tables, plus console size notes.
Graveyard Keeper 2 is a 3D, fixed-camera sequel that still has to light a Town Workshop at night. That is heavier than the 2018 pixel client even if the store page only asks for 2 GB of disk. This page copies Steam’s tables (app 4358690) and adds the few console size notes that are public. It does not replace a vendor’s can-you-run-it widget.
If you have not picked a storefront yet, read platforms first. If you already decided on PC, use the pre-order checklist after this table.
Minimum (Steam, 720p)
Steam labels these as 720p specifications:
| Piece | Minimum |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 x64 (64-bit required) |
| CPU | Intel Core i3-4160 / AMD FX-8320 |
| RAM | 4 GB |
| GPU | GeForce GT 640 / Radeon HD 7750 / Iris Pro Graphics 580 |
| API | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | 2 GB available |
A Haswell i3 and a GT 640 are 2013-era parts. They will launch 720p according to Lazy Bear. They will not make the Town Workshop screenshot look like the trailer. If you are on integrated graphics, the Iris Pro 580 line is the only iGPU named. Newer Intel iGPUs are unlisted — they may work, they are not promised.
Recommended (Steam, 1080p)
| Piece | Recommended |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 x64 |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-4670K / AMD FX-8350 |
| RAM | 8 GB |
| GPU | GeForce GTX 660 (2048 MB) / Radeon HD 7850 (2048 MB) |
| API | DirectX 12 |
| Storage | 2 GB available |
Again, these are older discrete cards with 2 GB of VRAM. The 3D lighting diary (July 2026, devlogs) is why we still tell laptop Keepers to try a windowed 1080p session before they promise a 4K stream. There is no official 1440p or 4K table.
What Steam does not list
- macOS / Linux — empty requirement blocks in the store API. Do not pre-order on those OSes expecting a native checkbox.
- Steam Deck — compatibility unknown. The Workshop UI uses small pips and a 66/75 meter; that may be fine at 800p or miserable. Wait for a Deck badge or a post-launch note on updates.
- SSD vs HDD — 2 GB is tiny. An SSD still helps streaming interiors like the Astrologer’s Tower, but Valve did not require one.
- Internet — single-player. You need a connection to download and to unlock a pre-load, not to bury a corpse.
Consoles
- Nintendo Switch 2 digital listing (US eShop at time of writing) estimated 780 MB game size, TV / tabletop / handheld, 1 player, Save Data Cloud via NSO, ESRB notes for blood, suggestive themes, drugs/alcohol, violence.
- PS5 / Xbox Series pages exist via the links hub. File sizes there move; trust the console store tile.
- Switch (original) is in the platform list. Handheld performance is not in Steam’s table — watch a docked versus handheld clip after the release date instead of guessing from the 2018 port.
Practical checks before you pay
- Open
dxdiagon Windows and confirm DirectX 12. DirectX 11-only office PCs fail the store requirement even if RAM looks fine. - Confirm you have 4 GB RAM free for the OS plus the game, not 4 GB total with Chrome eating 3.5.
- If your GPU is below a GT 640 / HD 7750, do not argue with the table. Buy console or skip.
- If you are between min and rec, plan to play in the Garden and Graveyard first, not in a maxed Town Workshop.
- After launch, compare your frame time in the Workshop night shot. That interior is the lighting stress test Lazy Bear bragged about.
Accessibility and input (related but not specs)
Steam flags full controller support, custom volume, playable without timed input, stereo sound, DualShock/DualSense over USB. That is why Getting Started can mention Mouse0 / R / Esc for build mode without pretending a pad is unsupported. Volume sliders matter if the talking skull grates — see preview.
Copy these tables into your notes if you want; they will only change if Valve’s store page changes. When that happens, this URL will change with it, not a random screenshot on Discord.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers Keepers ask before September 22.
Can a GT 640 run Graveyard Keeper 2?
Steam names it as the 720p minimum GPU. Expect the floor, not the trailer. DirectX 12 is still required.
How much disk space do I need?
Steam asks for 2 GB on PC. Nintendo's Switch 2 page estimated 780 MB. Always believe the live store tile.
Is Steam Deck verified?
No. Compatibility is listed as unknown. Check back on updates after September 22.
Does 4 GB RAM really suffice?
That is Steam's minimum. Recommended is 8 GB. Close browsers if you are on the floor.
